A significant development will be taking place at Allambe Memorial Park, scheduled to be complete in August 2019.
We will be creating an area for new memorials, with a lake and garden wetlands.
We are pleased to share this development will create enough new memorial space for both burial and cremation memorials to be available for the Gold Coast community for the next 20-30 years. We will be shaping around 80% of our land into the new memorial space and its surrounding features. The lake and garden wetland will provide a beautiful outlook from across our memorial park.
Families entrust our memorial park as the final resting place of their loved ones and we would like to reassure you that as we invest in the future of Allambe Memorial Park, access will continue to be available to all existing memorials within our grounds.

Our priority is to minimise the impact on our families and visitors to the park during the development phase. We will ensure all areas of the park are easy to access and will have additional parking and traffic controls in place.
Timing for the works – August 2018 to August 2019.
The development work begun on 6 August 2018 and will involve around 3 months of ground reconstruction from the back of the park, weather permitting.
This means there will be trucks coming into and out of the park and all measures will be in place to minimise any impact to the existing traffic flow.

We recommend visitors allow some extra time for services in our chapels to avoid any inconvenience.
We anticipate the initial ground reconstruction to be completed by November 2018. There will then be a construction-free period of 6 months.
We expect to commence the completion of the new memorial site by mid-2019, with the area for new burial and cremation memorials, a lake and wetlands available to the public by August 2019, weather permitting.

We have partnered with Arcadis Australia Pacific Pty Limited and a local civil construction company; OM Civil Pty Ltd.
We have undertaken a complete review of the works needed to be completed and this is estimated to take a total of 12 months, with a 6 month construction free period. The timing is weather permitting and we will keep our families and the local community updated on our progress.
Not at this stage. The development is about creating new memorial space for the Gold Coast community. We will continue to ensure our current facilities are maintained and enhanced and will advise of any other works at Allambe Memorial Park as and when they occur.
Parking space will be limited during the development and we recommend you allow additional travel time and also travel together with other family members and friends where possible. If you find access to the park restricted at any stage you can contact the park office and our team will assist.
We don’t anticipate any restriction to access over the next 12 months. We will have increased activity with vehicles coming into and out of the memorial park and will ensure we have traffic controls in place. We advise families they may need to take extra time for travel to and from services at the memorial park.
The works being undertaken are in an unused area of the park and will not impact on any existing memorials or access to your loved one's memorial in any way.
Yes. You will have full access to Allambe Memorial Park during the works period and opening hours will remain at sunrise to sunset, 7 days a week. You may find there are changes to where you are able to park. If you find access to the memorial is restricted in any way, please seek assistance from the park office.
We will be developing the new memorial space for both burials and cremations and a range of memorial options to suit both burials and cremations will become available.
We will share more details closer to the time when the new memorial space will be available. This will be after the ground works are completed in August 2019.
We will share more details on prepaying a memorial or purchasing a memorial needed now in the new memorial space as soon as this is available.
Yes, all our chapels will be operational through the entire works period.
There may be some limitations to service times during peak works periods. We will advise families well in advance of the available times.
